Lucinda Babi also offers a service for custom designs and commission pieces. this ranges from making styles already offered in a different fabric of your choice, to a completely custom design to make your original idea come to life.

the process
as part of my bespoke service, you will be offered a measuring and fitting process, which involves prototyping and adjusting to ensure the final garment is perfect for you.
lucinda babi custom pieces have been commissioned for a wide variety of clients, from album covers to wedding parties, so if you’d love to have a completely one-off piece made especially for you, i’m happy to discuss any idea with you.

to begin, I will organise an in-person or video meeting with you to discuss the project and to take your measurements (or guide you on taking them).
from there I will sketch out designs if needed, start prototyping your piece(s), and sourcing fabrics for you.
after this is underway I offer a fitting process to get the garment fit and details perfected before moving onto the final garment. -
costs are dependent on the complexity of the work and level of customisations and tailoring required. custom dresses range from 1,300-3,000 for a typical design.
a 30-50% deposit is required upon commencement of the project. -
it’s best to allow at least 2-3 months to accommodate most projects, with complex bridal commissions ideally allowing 5-6 months to allow for the entire fitting and fabric sourcing process.

the lucinda babi studio is based in clifton hill, victoria. in person meetings/fittings are preferred but I am also happy to communicate via video calls, with remote projects being accepted upon request depending on complexity.
